Handmade Garden theme Play Dough Sensory Play activity set

Kit includes everything you need to let your child’s imagination run wild including (4) Colors of handmade non-toxic play dough, a custom made play dough stamp to match the theme of the set, pom poms, googly eyes and various other decorations for kids to explore with.

These are perfect as a creative gift, or even as party favors! The dough can also be made gluten free for gifting to a child with a gluten sensitivity.

BENEFITS OF SENSORY PLAY:

These sets are a perfect jumping off point for kids to explore their creativity through open ended play. Sensory open ended play is play that has no pre-determined instructions. Sets like this encourage kids to use the materials provided and to use their imagination to see what they can create. Kids learn so much through this style of play including problem solving skills, fine motor skills and gripping and molding skills which help to strengthen hand muscles in preparation for writing. These types of activities encourage them to make their own decisions about how to use the materials provided and how to bring their imagination to life!

Included with each set are (4) activity sheets tailored to each theme that provide kids with a jumping off point of what to create using their play dough, with basic prompts such as "Caterpillars love to eat leaves, can you use your play dough to make some leaves?" I find these are great to get kids imaginations started with what types of things they can make then let their imaginations take over from there!



PLAY DOUGH:

Each sensory play set includes (4) colours of handmade non-toxic play dough.
Standard playdough includes flour, salt, lemon juice, cream of tartar powder, vegetable oil and food colouring.
The dough can also be made gluten free for those with a child with a gluten sensitivity. Gluten free playdough includes rice flour, cornstarch, salt, cream of tartar powder, lemon juice, vegetable oil and food colouring.
Please note the gluten free playdough has a slightly shorter life span than standard play dough. The standard play dough lasts 8-12 weeks, gluten free playdough lasts about 6-8 weeks.
Each batch of dough is made fresh for each order.
Please note the dough is not edible, it is made from common baking ingredients so while it is non toxic it is not edible due to it's high salt content and some colors containing glitter.
Not recommended for children under 3.



HOW TO ORDER:

1. Choose if you would like standard play dough or gluten free play dough
2. If you would like to add extra containers of play dough you also have the option to add an extra container of each of the (4) colours in your set
3. Choose your desired quantity from the drop down menu
4. If you're using these as loot bags and would like me to customize the label on the top lid of the set with your child’s name please leave your information to personalize the tags in the "notes to seller" field when you are checking out
5. I will create the perfect set for you and let you know the tracking information as soon as it’s packed and on it’s way!

Each of these sets is handmade with care and each container is filled and assembled by hand, because of the handmade nature of these please handle with care.
Some of the accessories in the set you receive may be different colours, shapes or items depending on availability but everything will be of equal value.
The play dough comes wrapped in individual air tight bags, the sensory kit container is not air tight so I recommend storing your play dough in the bags after playing to ensure it stays soft and doesn’t dry out.

If you are in the GTA and interested in local delivery I can delivery within the GTA (Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville, Caledon, Georgetown) for between $5 - $15 depending on your location



TIMING:

Typically these are made and shipped within 3-5 days of placing your order.
Once the set is assembled and carefully packaged to get on its way to you I will email you with a tracking number so you can watch for your package to arrive.

I know how difficult childrens allergies can be to manage so I feel it's necessary to mention that while the gluten free play dough does not contain any ingredients with gluten I do use the same cooking utensils and pots to cook both the standard play dough and gluten free playdough. I make a very strong effort to make sure everything is washed extremely well before making a gluten free batch but cross contamination is still a possibility. If your child is sensitive to gluten I recommend adult supervision.
